When Jorianne "The Coffee Psychic" says that the future is in coffee, she’s not talking about financial investment opportunities. In a traditional Hispanic variation of the time-honored practice of tea-leaf reading, Jorianne The Coffee Psychic is a practitioner of a unique brand of divination – coffee reading.

“I do psychic readings using a cup of coffee as a crystal ball, seeing images in the steam, cream and bubbles,” says Jorianne. “I see letters, numbers, body parts, faces, images, – the elements of the coffee form pictures – like a video or motion picture; always moving, always changing. Images come up for interpretation, then flows back down into the coffee and as more cream is added, more pictures resurface for additional information”.

Jorianne’s co-host on “Your Psychic Connection” is Bill Barker. He originally began working with Jorianne in the mid 1990’s, while doing mornings at a radio station in Lincoln, Nebraska. At the urging of another radio host who had worked with Jorianne, she was invited to be on the show for an hour to take phone calls and do readings. Although highly “skeptical” of psychics in general, Bill decided it would interesting to have some fun with the topic. The two hit it off on the air immediately as Bill were first impressed with Jorianne’s sense of humor surrounding her abilities. While relentlessly jumping into Jorianne’s readings to inject his “humor,” she patiently laughed along and continued. Along the way, it became obvious that she was connecting with the callers on some very specific points. The hour flew by and Jorianne’s visits became a monthly staple of the show for many years. By mixing Jorianne’s uncanny psychic abilities with Bill’s irreverent approach, her appearances became one of the show’s most popular features. So popular, it led to a weekly one-hour show called “Sunday Night Psychic,” which aired weekly for over a year and drew incredible ratings to what is typically a terrible night for radio listening. When Bill decided to get out of commercial radio in 2005, that spelled the end of their working partnership, but they remained in contact looking for an opportunity to reunite on the air.
