Building sand castles. Putting my toes into the water at a lake. Eating dinner from my garden, attending an outdoor concert and watching the sky move from day to twilight to starry.
Walking by the river, sharing special conversations with friends on the patio.

I am a swimmer. I love the way my body feels as I glide through the water, and my days are always better when I can begin with a kilometer swim. My mind relaxes into a deep meditative space with the repetitive back and fourth, back and fourth as I complete 40 lengths. I'm learning a lot. At a time in my city when major rescuing, rebuilding and rethinking is the daily norm, I am humbled by the efforts of the volunteers who step forward. Fear has not been an option.
