How many times have you heard someone’s “I am” label? For example, "I am a real estate agent." or "I am a financial planner." Did it go in one ear and out the other?

I bet I can read some of your first thoughts when you hear someone’s bio and it starts with an “I am… label.

• “Got one, don’t need one, next!”
• “Oh no, he is going to try to sell me something.”
• “Oh, she sells real estate just like my cousin Sue, and Sue would never forgive me if I bought from someone else….”

Was I close?

Do those run through your mind when someone starts to tell you what they do? So, the real question is: how do you differentiate yourself from all the others?
