We are in the midst of a time of radical change. Every day there are new challenges. Who would have thought that the US Presidential Election would be jeopardized by a storm?
In my world, some days I am just struggling to stay upright – other days the sailing is relatively smooth. The problem for me becomes the point that I don’t know what to expect from one day to the next, and I hate it when the rug gets pulled out from under my feet—it hurts to land smartly on my rear end! With all the earth changes, disaster and drama taking place at this time, it is hard for us to stay centered and not fall into fear or depression.
Many of us are learning that it is impossible to get too used to ANY decision or direction because in the blink of an eye it might not be appropriate anymore. Even a month ago, nobody would have considered the possibility that every part of our lives might have been turned upside down by the events that have just taken place. Non-attachment is becoming so necessary, especially not being attached to any particular CHOICE we might make or to any particular outcome, so therefore you might say that the word of the moment is flexibility.
Reeds that bend in the breeze rarely break, but sticks that are rigid do, so better to bend with change than allow it to break you. This was just demonstrated by hurricane Sandy. The buildings in her path there that were constructed with strong foundations and flexibility in their support structures actually swayed during the storm and were able to withstand the violent winds. Those that lacked these components crumbled. What a metaphor for each of us. Build room for movement into every decision and choice you make going forward. The old times of duality are over. We don’t have to draw lines in the sand and choose either “this” or “that” anymore, but rather we can explore a wider range of options, and modify as we move along, crafting better solutions based on the input from the moment before. Looking back, it’s easier now to see that in the space of duality, we were much more limited. As we move further into unity consciousness, millions of shades of gray replace the traditional black and white that we used to believe were the only choices we had to pick from.
Each moment provides us the opportunity to make choices. Everything that happens around us only exists to allow us to learn from it, and how we react determines the lesson. If we choose anything but love, we are really picking fear, which then means that we are settling for less than what we deserve. With each lesson that is presented to us, we don’t have to agree, but we do have to accept if we want to achieve the highest learning. For today—choose to be healthy, happy and WHOLE, and surround yourself with peace and love.
